True Prophecy, Dispensations & The Future

For a number of years the prophecy teachers and writers within the Church have presented their guesses of when the return of Jesus Christ might happen. Truly, we can know the season, but not the day or hour of this great event. One after another, the passage of time has proven many of these teachers and writers to be wrong. After all, conjecture is just that: conjecture! And there are no prophets speaking to the church alive today, so anyone saying "The Lord told me this, or that" is decieved or a liar.

Most of these individuals have used the rebirth of the nation of Israel as the starting point for numbering the days of the "last days." Then they guess at what length of generation is correct. Many guesses have been proven in error over the last several years.

A case in point:

Joshua Munguti at the Christian Truth Center puts forth the fig tree generation proposition:

"The fig tree generation is the generation that will not pass till all things prophesied in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 be fulfilled."

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." - Matthew 24:32-34

"In 2018 the generation will be 70 years old and Israel will mark 70 years of statehood on May 14th 1948. ... The 1948 generation will be over in the year 2018 when the generation attains 70 years in accordance to Psalms 90:10 but the generation has to go up to 80 years for years of labour and sorrow (great tribulation) then soon cut off. ... Since in 2018 the generation will be 70 years plus 10 more years for the generation to be 80 years thus brings us to the year 2028. ... i.e. from 1948 to 2028 = 80 years and the generation is soon cut off as prophesied in Psalms. ... Therefore, since the generation will be over in the year 2028, and as Jesus said, ‘generation shall not pas till all these things be fulfilled’, that means the latest for Jesus Christ to return is the year 2028. ... There are 7 years of great tribulation period (the years of labor and sorrow) which must be fulfilled before the generation is cut off. See the last week of Daniel 70 weeks prophecy. ... Thus the latest for the great tribulation to begin is the year (2028 – 7) = 2021. ... Before the great tribulation begins, the church is raptured thus rapture may be around the year 2021.

Ooops! 2021 is nearly over. But of course, a way out is presented if it does not happen in 2021. I suspect that Munguti was expecting the Rapture during the Feast of Trumpets:

"Biblical lifespan of man: 80 years (with years of labor and sorrow) ... Israel rebirth: May 14th 1948 ... Years from May 14th 1948 to 2014: 66 years ... Years left in lifespan: 14 years ... The year for 1948 generation to be over (1948 + 80 years): 2028 ... Latest year for Jesus Christ return: 2028 ... Latest year for rapture and the beginning of the great tribulation (2018 – 7): 2021 ... There may be a slight error margin which I will reveal in the next study; the end of 6000 years from creation?"

Most of the people providing "certain" dates for the Rapture are probably well meaning individuals, true believers longing for the return of Jesus Christ. But perhaps we spend too much time on such questions.

In my opinion only one viable biblical definition, a "type," of a generation now remains. It is the 120-year long definition of a generation, that is pictured in the 120-year long preaching of Noah prior to the great flood, a span of time wherein God gave mankind a length of time to repent to escape detruction.

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." - Matthew 24:37-39

We all wonder when Jesus will return, but in truth we can only know the season, not the day nor the hour. And it is pretty much a forgone conclusion that we are in that season!

GENERATION: A generation commonly refers to all persons who were born about the same time. (Ex 1:6; Mt 11:16) Associated with this is the meaning “contemporaries.” At Genesis 6:9 it is stated concerning Noah: “He proved himself faultless among his contemporaries [literally, generations].” When used with reference to family relationships, a generation can refer to a group of descendants, as sons and daughters or grandsons and granddaughters.—Job 42:16.The term can be used as a measure of time with reference to past or future ages. The generations of mankind descended from the sinner Adam have been transitory, as contrasted with the earth, which abides forever. (Ec 1:4; Ps 104:5)

A generation may mean a class of persons, that is, those characterized by certain qualities or conditions. The Bible speaks of “the generation of the righteous one” (Ps 14:5; 24:6; 112:2) and “a generation crooked and twisted,” “a generation of perverseness.” (De 32:5, 20; Pr 30:11-14) Jesus Christ, when on earth, spoke similarly of the people of the Jewish nation of that day, and the apostle Paul applied such terms to the world of his day in general, which was alienated from God.—Mt 12:39; 16:4; 17:17; Mr 8:38; Php 2:14, 15.

Length: When the term “generation” is used with reference to the people living at a particular time, the exact length of that time cannot be stated, except that the time would fall within reasonable limits. These limits would be determined by the life span of the people of that time or of that population. The life span of the ten generations from Adam to Noah averaged more than 850 years each. (Ge 5:5-31; 9:29) But after Noah, man’s life span dropped off sharply. Abraham, for example, lived only 175 years. (Ge 25:7) Today, much as it was in the time of Moses, people living under favorable conditions may reach 70 or 80 years of age. Moses wrote: “In themselves the days of our years are seventy years; and if because of special mightiness they are eighty years, yet their insistence is on trouble and hurtful things; for it must quickly pass by, and away we fly.” (Ps 90:10 Some few may live longer, but Moses stated the general rule. Moses himself, who lived 120 years, was an exception, as were his brother Aaron (123 years), Joshua (110 years), and some others whose strength and vitality were unusual.—De 34:7; Nu 33:39; Jos 24:29.

Again, I strongly suspect that Noah's preaching provides the "type" regarding a 120-year generation that equally applies to our current time. Computing this from the rebirth of Israel in 1948, leaves forty years more to the start of the Great Tribulation period, as I write this in 2021. A lot can happen in forty years! We may not know the day or the hour of Jesus appearing in the clouds, but we know that we are getting very close, no matter what the length of a generation might be.

With this current nest of vicious vipers running the United States who are all associated with the criminal Biden Administration, we can expect horrendous things to be coming our way as the days roll by. Disasterous decisions are being made daily. I do believe the judgment of God is descending upon America because of the decades long run of infanticide, and because our national government has officially disowned Christianity, God the Father, and Jesus the Christ. What a terrible thing. Right now this country is heading down the drain at an ever faster and faster clip.

The only thing secret about the second coming of Jesus Christ is the timing. Notice these clear statements:

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” (Matthew 24:42).

“But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” (Mark 13:32).

“And he [i.e. Jesus] said unto them [i.e. the Twelve Apostles], It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” (Acts 1:7). Note that later more information is revealed to the Church through the apostle Paul, however.

Nothing says that the Republic of the United States will survive until the Lord comes for His Bride. It's almost gone now. A coup has overtaken our Federal government. When nations fail, bad things happen. My advice is to become a bit of a prepper to the extent one can, and to fully put one's faith into the saving power of Jesus at the same time. Preparation for the failure of the energy grid, the non-delivery of food and water, adequate shelter, and for self protection is certainly the wise thing to do. I pray that the Lord returns in the clouds soon to take home His Disciples in the Rapture! Just remember that every conquered people has hoped for escape, but that escape from demonic tyranny is very rare after the coup has already happened.

An Additional Note: Another interesting prophecy presentation is about the Berisheet Prophecy that can be viewed on Youtube. Do check it out! As it turns out this interesting idea does not use the length of a generation to come up with a projected end times time line. However, an early version of the video projected the Rapture in 2021 and a newer video projects the Rapture in 2023, so as usual, exercise caution before accepting others idea's as solid fact. Just as my unproven 120-year "type" as presented above is just an unproven possibility, so also the Berisheet Prophecy is only an unproven possibility.

Albert Barnes points out that "God has uniformly reproved a vain curiosity on such points, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2; 2 Peter 3:10; Luke 12:39-40." - Albert Barnes Notes On The Bible, Acts 1:8. So let's not get all carried away with date setting!

We are to constantly be ready for the return of Jesus in the air to claim His Bride church. It might happen as you are reading this, several years from now, or maybe it has happened before you read this. No matter what the true time line of the Rapture turns out to be, repent of your sins immediately, and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior right now! Don't waste this opportunity to recieve eternal life and escape an eternity in hell fire!

The Beast and His Mark: Read Revelation 13

It's really pretty simple. The Roman Catholic church helped create Islam. They are now behind the drive to organize Chrislam as the new one-world religion of the coming Antichrist. The Pope with Roman Catholcism IS a Beast. However, if you are truly saved, a true Disciple of Jesus, you are watching for the appearance of Jesus, not the appearance of the Antichrist. We Christians expect to be removed from earth before the Great Tribulation.
